Please join us in welcoming Eleanor to Sebago!

Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?

I grew up in Falmouth and I went to school in Boston. I’ve also spent a lot of time in Bridgton at Highland Lake at my grandparents’ camp.

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

Anywhere with water and trees. Highland Lake, Acadia, any of the islands.

What three traits define you?

Perseverance, kindness, curiosity.

What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?

My very first job was being a cleaning lady for rental lake cabins for Krainin real estate. I think that’s where I learned to just stick with a task and get it done, even if it’s not super enjoyable.

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

I like helping the community that I live in, trying to make things safer and more comfortable for people of all ages and abilities.

What was your journey like to get where you are?

Pretty simple. I graduated in Boston and knew I wanted to live in Portland, so I came home and started looking for a job.

What are your hobbies outside the office?

I like gardening, painting, embroidery, boxing, hiking, and yoga.

What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?

I liked how community oriented it is. The jobs here are local, designed by locals that know and care about the communities they’re working in.

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

Kayaking, especially ocean kayaking. Also trying all the many different restaurants.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Curried lentil soup.

Top three life highlights?

Graduating college, my trip to New Mexico, and my trip to Vancouver.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, tell us about it!

I play the viola and am learning the mandolin.

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

Maybe a cat? I like doing things and exploring, but I also really like to lounge and do nothing.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

A trip up and down Italy. I want to see all the big tourist stops like Rome and Venice, but also get out away from the cities and see the countryside.

Favorite Holiday and why?

Christmas. Presents, food, family, and (maybe) snow.

What is the best concert you attended?

I saw Marina two years ago and that was a fun concert because the venue was by Boston Harbor, and all the fans knew her songs by heart.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

In high school I interned at Northspore Mushroom Co., a mushroom farm.

What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?

I love road trips. I love driving to a new place and exploring there for a day or two and then moving on to the next place.

When you think about working at Sebago Technics, what makes you proudest or most excited?

I’m very excited to become a “real” engineer. I don’t have as much practical experience so I’m looking forward to learning all the tips and tricks of practicing engineering, and then earning my PE in a few years.
