Employee-Owner Spotlight | Shaun Leeper | Computer and Information Systems Manager

It is our pleasure to introduce Shaun Leeper, who joins Sebago Technics as Computer and Information Systems Manager. 

Mr. Leeper is a graduate of the University of Maine with a degree in New Media and has worked for more than 14 years as a Network Support/Security Engineer.  He is a technical problem solver with a focus on customer service, automation, efficiency and cybersecurity.  Shaun has experience in a wide range of platforms, tools and solutions to assist organizations with their technology needs and use.  Outside of the office, Shaun enjoys DIY home improvement, golfing, bowling, and coaching Little League Softball.

Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?

I was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and moved to Gorham, Maine when I was 10 years old. Attended College at the University of Maine in Orono. After graduation, lived in Portland, Westbrook, and now I am back in Gorham, Maine.        

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

Baxter State Park, Mt. Katahdin.

What three traits define you? 

Problem-solver, focused, reliable.

What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?

Washing dishes at a retirement home. I learned it’s the people that can make any job fun.

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

Every day presents new challenges.

What was your journey like to get where you are?

I’ve enjoyed every minute of it from having fun at work to spending time with my family.

What are your hobbies outside the office?

DIY home improvement, golfing, bowling, and coaching Little League Softball.

What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?

I always heard great things about Sebago Technics and was inspired to apply by a friend & co-worker.

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

Enjoy the ever-changing seasons outdoors

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Steak and potatoes.

Top three life highlights?

The birth of my daughter Madelyn. and enjoying every minute with her.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, tell us about it!

I’m pretty handy on any home project for an IT guy.

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

Dog.  Loyal and friendly.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

Anywhere in the Caribbean.

Favorite Holiday and why?

Thanksgiving – Food, family, and fun.

Hadlock Field – Team Recognition Night after winning the Town championship.

What is the best concert you attended?

The Gun’s & Roses concert never happened.  I was in college in Orono, drove 2+ hours to Portland to see GnR at the Civic Center. Axl Rose was told he couldn’t have a drink on stage, so he canceled the concert, and I got a parking ticket.  Still salty about that one and have yet to see them live.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.  

I was the 55m High Hurdle Champion in High School.

What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?

BBQ!
