Employee-Owner Spotlight: Aaron Hunter, Project Engineer

Aaron HunterIt is our pleasure to announce that Aaron Hunter. P.E. has rejoined Sebago as a Project Engineer. Aaron graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, Aaron joined Sebago as a Civil Engineer. In 2015 he left Sebago to relocate to Florida. While in Florida he worked as a Project Engineer for a multi-disciplinary consulting firm serving residential, commercial and municipal clients. He obtained his Professional Engineer license in January of this year. Please join us in welcoming Aaron back to Sebago and the great State of Maine!

What places have you lived in throughout your life?

In Maine I have lived in Waterville, Winslow, Orono, Portland and currently Westbrook. I also lived in Delray Beach, Florida for 4 years.

What three traits define you? 

Hardworking, detail oriented, genuine.

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

Every day brings a new challenge and I get to interact with people of all different backgrounds.

What was the most unusual or interesting job you had before Sebago?

I interned at MaineDOT with the surface water resources division for a summer during college. A majority of my time was spent in the field traveling to locations across Maine and completing a variety of tasks in or near streams or bodies of water. I got to see a lot of beautiful places.

What are your hobbies outside the office?

I enjoy playing sports, working out, and enjoy food and drinks with friends and family.

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

I enjoy being outside. Whether it is hiking, fishing, camping or some other outdoor activity.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Philly Cheese Steak

Top three life highlights?

Getting my first job offer after college, moving to Florida, and moving back to Maine.

If you were an animal what would you be?

An eagle.

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

Alaska.

What is the best concert you attended?

Nelly at Tortuga music festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

What are you excited about at Sebago?

I am excited to work with all of my fellow employee-owners. It’s the people that I get to work with day in and day out that make my job fun.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.  

I’m a Boston sports fan for everything, except baseball. I’m not really sure how it happened, but I’ve been a New York Yankees fan since I can remember.

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

Portland and Bar Harbor.
