Due to our continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a passionate and driven Construction Inspector, with construction or construction inspection experience. Within this construct, the Construction Inspector will manage and oversee all construction inspection tasks including, but not limited to inspection, testing, measurements, documentation of quantities, and closeout for the project. This position will include direct communication with the contractor as well as provide oversight of the contractor’s work. Work beyond eight hours per day and beyond 40 hours per week is typically required for this position. Time over 40 hours is compensated at time and a half. Night, weekend and holiday work may also be required, but is not currently envisioned. Travel to the job sites in Maine will be required.
Ideal applicants for this position will have prior construction or construction inspection experience with a working knowledge of roadway and utility engineering and construction. The successful candidate should be an excellent communicator, have solid writing/math skills and be comfortable interacting with and directing others on the job site, including inspectors and contractors. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and oversee all inspection activities on one or multiple construction assignments.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in the engineering or construction field.
- NETTCP paving certified or ability and desire to get certified.
- Able to understand and interpret contract documents.
- Able to make sound decisions based on experience and contract documentation.
