
Another new employee, another spotlight! Meet our newest Civil Engineer, Amber Ferland. Originally from Vassalboro, Maine, Amber comes to us from Florida where she has been working as a Staff Engineer for a national engineering firm. Amber graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from Norwich University. Join us in welcoming Amber to the Sebago team!
What is your role at Sebago Technics? Civil Engineer
What is your favorite part about your job? I love the variety and I love a challenge.
How did you choose this career path? I was interested in rehabilitating old infrastructure. There’s something refreshing and satisfying about fixing something old and making it better.
What places have you lived in throughout your life? Maine, Vermont, and Florida
Before working at Sebago, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? I worked at Maine Emergency Management Agency for an internship in the Dam Safety Program. I got to go all over Maine finding undocumented dams and created files and Emergency Action Plans for them.
What three traits define you? Dedication, Determination, and Compassionate
What are your hobbies outside the office? Hiking, skiing, camping, playing with my dog. Pretty much anything outdoors.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Shepherd’s Pie
Top three life highlights: 1. Graduating with my BS and MBA 2. Moving to Florida and making it on my own 3. Getting my puppy.
If you were an animal what would you be? An eagle
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? Switzerland
What is the best concert you attended? Lee Price at Norwich University
Tell us something that might surprise us about you. I love to travel. I went to Spain and Turkey while I was in school. I’d love to add that to my list.
