Employee-Owner Spotlight: Andrew Strout, Project Surveyor

Andrew StroutWe are pleased to announce that Andrew Strout, PLS has joined our Team as Project Surveyor. Andrew is a graduate from the University of Maine with a degree in Surveying Engineering.  He also has a Certificate in Applied GIS from USM.  He has worked locally on projects across the United States.  He has experience in terrestrial LIDAR scanning and modeling and is a member of both MSLS and ACSM.

What is your role at Sebago Technics?

Project Surveyor

What is your favorite part about your job?

The best part about the job is that the technology used to complete the work is always changing.

How did you choose this career path?

Came across surveying as a career path in college while looking for a major that would get me outdoors.

What places have you lived in throughout your life?

Topsham ME, Orono ME, spent a year traveling for work around the PA, NJ, NY tristate area, and currently living in Saco ME.

Before working at Sebago, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Worked as an intern at a sewer district setting up the computerized maintenance management software for the treatment plant, but I was also given the opportunity to work in a number of different roles.

What are your hobbies outside the office?

Hiking, playing computer games, and programming.

What are you excited about at Sebago?

I am excited to work on local projects as opposed to projects that I will never see in person.
