At Sebago, our employees are the heart of who we are. Today, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Rich Stone, our new CAD Technician/3D Modeler. Rich recently graduated from Southern Maine Community College with a degree in Architectural and Engineering Design. He also recently completed an internship with the City of South Portland where he modeled various infrastructure facilities. Richard will be part of our Survey Group and will provide both CAD and modeling support for survey and High Definition Scan projects.
What is your role at Sebago Technics? Creating solid 3D models for projects and jobs utilizing Revit and other software
What is your favorite part about your job? The wonderful community and how welcoming everyone has been
What places have you lived in throughout your life? I am originally from Troy, a small town in New Hampshire. I moved to Maine about 9 years ago
Before working at Sebago, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? I worked at a small country store in Hollis, Maine. It was the information hub of the smaller town and as such I got to meet a lot of interesting people
What made you decide to pursue your current career? After taking a few courses in college I became very interested in architectural and engineering design
What three traits define you? Motivation, determination, and attention to detail
What are your hobbies outside the office? I enjoy wood working and architectural design, as well as spending time with my dog
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Easy, buffalo chicken calzone from Gorham House of Pizza
Top three life highlights? Moving to Maine, Graduating College, and getting my first dog
What has been your favorite project at Sebago and why? So far they have all been great. I have been able to learn about a lot of new software and technology
If you were an animal what would you be? Some kind of cross between an elephant, bear, and fox
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation? I have always wanted to see the cherry blossoms of Japan
What is the best concert you attended? The Black Keys, down in Boston
Tell us something that might surprise us about you. I am an avid survival enthusiast
