We are thrilled to introduce you to Vraj Thakkar, who recently joined us as a Data Analyst – a position that is brand new to Sebago Technics!
Mr. Thakkar is a recent graduate of DeVry University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. He is skilled in several computer languages, databases, and tools such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, PowerBi and Advanced Excel and has internship experience as both a software engineer and research data analyst. Vraj will be primarily working with the Transportation Team analyzing traffic and traffic signal operations data.
Originally from India, Vraj has just moved to Maine from New York City. Please join us in welcoming Raj to Sebago Technics and the great State of Maine!

Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?
I grew up in Gujarat, India, attended College in UT Arlington, and then transferred to New York, NY.
Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?
I still need to explore, and am open for suggestions!

What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?
My first job was on campus as IT Technical Assistant, where I came to know about networking protocols, system infrastructure, and how the University operates with the tech services.
What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?
My favorite part of the type of work I do is data extraction and transformation to get valuable insights by asking right questions. It feels like I am painting nature on the plain canvas.
What was your journey like to get where you are?
Mostly dancing with uncertainty. Leaving my home country when I was 18 and trying to adapt to American culture and figuring out the career and what interests me. I came across lot of people and inherited great values and combining with my cultural values along the way. It is a great step towards maturity to deal all by myself and have an independent life. I am fortunate enough to make this progress and keep growing personally and professionally. It is wonderful to be part of Maine and the community, and I am eager to contribute my skills for Sebago Technics!

What are your hobbies outside the office?
I enjoy soccer, hiking, trying local food places, piano, YouTube, and learning more about Space and physics.
What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?
I was inspire by the opportunity, people, and New England.
If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Thai Curry with Rice and Kea Mao.
Top three life highlights?
- Traveling 20 countries and visiting Arsenal FC Emirates Stadium in London
- Living in New York
- Working on data analytics projects with different companies throughout college.

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, tell us about it!
I think I can brag about Table Tennis and Snooker skills.
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
I would love to visit New Zealand!

What is the best concert you attended?
The best concert I attended was Coldplay.

What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?
I enjoy visiting local places to eat with a view, taking trips to National Parks, and trying something different to learn about humans and Planet Earth.
