Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our team, Zander Plescia!

Zander joins us as a Survey Technician and is looking forward to applying his skills and passion for surveying at Sebago! He is a graduate from the University of Maine with a degree in Surveying Engineering Technology. Originally from Connecticut, he worked for a local survey firm for several years.

What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?

After working for a very small surveying firm in Connecticut, I liked that Sebago Technics has a large staff of qualified surveyors, as well as some of the best and newest technology in the industry.

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

I love the combination of math, science, history, technology etc. on top of being able to spend most days outside. Every job presents a new and interesting challenge.

What was the most unusual or interesting job you had before Sebago?

The only non-surveying job I’ve had was working at my father’s printing company in high school. Still the toughest boss I’ve ever had!

What are your hobbies outside the office?

Hiking, biking, screen printing, linocut printing, photography, woodworking, playing guitar

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

Island camping with friends in Casco Bay

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Lobster roll, as cliché as it may be

Top three life highlights?

  • Competing in a national baseball tournament in South Carolina
  • Spending two weeks driving across the country visiting different national parks
  • Graduating college

What is your hidden talent?

I’m ambidextrous (kind of)

If you were an animal what would you be?

Definitely cat

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

Sweden, or somewhere in Eastern Europe

What are you excited about at Sebago?

The chance to apply my education and simultaneously continue to learn from experienced professionals.

Despite being pretty short, I’m a decent basketball player.

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

I’d like to explore the state more, but so far Isle au Haut.
