Ian Fernandez | Survey Technician

We’re excited to introduce Ian Fernandez, our newest Survey Technician at our Sanford, Maine office. Ian is making an exciting career shift into surveying, bringing experience from commercial litigation and environmental outreach. A College of the Holy Cross graduate who loves the outdoors, Ian is ready to learn the ropes in the field!

Can you share a bit about your professional background and experience?

I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and worked as a commercial litigation paralegal as well as an environmental non-profit before joining Sebago.

What do you love most about living in Maine?

I love having easy access to everything I love to do outdoors.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

Getting to learn a lot and being outside rather than in an office.

What’s your go-to local restaurant or café in Maine?

Ramona’s in Portland

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share?

In the summer I love to go fishing and, in the winter, I love to go snowboarding.

Do you have a favorite spot or activity to do in Maine?

I love going up and exploring Bethel and Rangeley.

Have you explored any of Maine’s beautiful hiking trails or national parks? Which one is your favorite?

Acadia is one of my favorite spots to explore!

What projects or tasks are you looking forward to working on at Sebago Technics?

I am looking forward to learning a lot about surveying.

What are your thoughts on Sebago Technics being an employee-owned company through its ESOP, and how do you think it benefits the employees and the company as a whole?

I think it really benefits the overall company culture and creates a great working environment.
