John Goff | Employee Experience Coordinator

We’re thrilled to welcome John Goff as our new Employee Experience Coordinator! He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s in industrial-organizational psychology from Salem State University. With his infectious enthusiasm, helpful nature, and genuine passion for supporting people, John is already bringing incredible energy to our Sebago Technics team. Can you share a bit about your professional background and experience?

I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a background in Psychology and then went to Salem State University to get my Masters Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Sebago is my first job and so I am thrilled to kickstart my career here!

What inspired you to join Sebago Technics?

The culture really sold me to join Sebago. Seeing the collaborative, supportive, and welcoming people at Sebago really stood out and made me excited to join the team.

What do you love most about living in Maine?

I love the quieter lifestyle, the friendly nature of Mainers, and the wide range of activities that Maine has to offer.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

I’m most excited to learn and develop my skills as young professional so I can better support our people.

What’s your go-to local restaurant or café in Maine?

Sebago Brewing Company in South Portland

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share?

I love staying active and have a variety of ways to do it. I enjoy playing ultimate frisbee and disc golf, going for runs, and spending time at the gym. Outside of that, I also like collecting cards, reading, and relaxing at the beach.

Do you have a favorite spot or activity to do in Maine?

I love exploring Fort Williams State Park in Cape Elizabeth.

Have you explored any of Maine’s beautiful hiking trails or national parks? Which one is your favorite?

Acadia is a beautiful place to go. My personal favorite was doing the Beehive Trail.

What’s a hidden gem in Maine that you think everyone should visit?

It’s not so hidden, but everyone should try to visit Peaks Island at least once.

What are your thoughts on Sebago Technics being an employee-owned company through its ESOP, and how do you think it benefits the employees and the company as a whole?

I love it! I think it motivates everyone to give their best each day and to feel genuinely invested in the work we’re doing.

Have you attended any local festivals or events? Which one did you enjoy the most?

Yes, the Yarmouth Clam Festival has to be my favorite!

What’s one thing on your bucket list that you’re determined to accomplish?

I would love to run a marathon! I did a half marathon in June, so I’d love to do the full thing.

What projects or tasks are you looking forward to working on at Sebago Technics?

I’m looking forward to refining and enhancing our Human Resources procedures to make our employees’ lives easier and more convenient every step of the way.
