Sebago Technics handled survey, engineering, permitting, traffic analysis, and landscape architecture for the site, all while coordinating with abutters and property owners to secure Town of Kennebunk Planning Board approval for the downtown
Sebago Technics partnered on a 2,000 square foot expansion of the Spaulding Center for Active Living (formerly The Center) in downtown Kennebunk, adding space for events and gatherings at this longtime community hub.
Our team provided survey, engineering, permitting, traffic analysis, and landscape architecture services for this highly visible downtown site. Working closely with Graham Architects, Spang Builders, and Foglio Construction, we worked through some tricky site constraints, including flat topography that took careful drainage evaluation. We also spent time talking through the design with abutters and property owners to make sure the site would work well for everyone around it, with minimal environmental impact.
Getting there took careful attention to how the site would function day to day, how it would fit into downtown Kennebunk, and how it would affect the neighbors around it. We guided the project through the Planning Board review process, landing on a solution that meets the Spaulding Center’s immediate space needs while preserving its role as a cornerstone of the Kennebunk community. The expansion reflects a thoughtful approach to downtown development, one that keeps connectivity, function, and context all in balance.
