project Details
Applying modern solutions to help save a historic Maine chapel
Sebago Technics was engaged for our experience in high-definition scanning and 3D modeling of complex architectural elements.
The chapel’s intricate stained-glass windows, entry doors, and tracery—representing 85% of its key historic features—were digitally captured and modeled to create precise, reusable molds for restoration. This innovative approach significantly reduced the need to physically remove and cast individual tracery elements, instead using digital models to generate CNC-cut molds for precast production.
By eliminating the need for destructive removal and traditional casting methods, the project team doubled production efficiency and shortened the overall timeline, ensuring the chapel’s restoration was both accurate and efficient.
