Design rooted in a Maine school’s legacy

Sebago Technics partnered with Lavallee Brensinger Architects to design, engineer, and permit the new Morse High School and Regional Technical Center for RSU 1. Located north of Wing Farm Business Park, the 186,000-square-foot, three-story facility replaces the 90-year-old Morse High School and the separate Bath Regional Career and Technical Center.

Conducting a robust GIS-based SMARTMAP analysis to identify the ideal location was the first step in the process. Once the site was determined, Sebago moved efficiently through design, engineering, and permitting—balancing regional requirements, school needs, and community goals.

The new facility accommodates 650 students and features updated drop-off areas, parking for 285 vehicles, and two artificial turf soccer fields. Connectivity to the adjacent middle school enhances the campus feel, with a new pedestrian bridge and expanded bike paths ensuring safe, accessible circulation between facilities.

Off-site improvements include sidewalks, crosswalks with flashing beacons, and a dedicated left-turn lane, enhancing neighborhood traffic flow and ensuring safer access for all. Throughout the project, our team facilitated a collaborative process, integrating feedback from the Bath School District, local residents, the Maine Department of Education, and the Bureau of General Services to deliver a site plan that will serve generations of students to come.
