Where play and development come together
Sebago Technics partnered with the Town of Gorham and Narragansett School to transform an ordinary playground into an engaging, sensory-rich outdoor experience tailored to young students. Developed alongside the school’s expanding Pre-K program, the new space reflects a child-centered approach to design.
From the outset, our team collaborated closely with administrators, an early childhood education specialist, and the Town Facilities Director—blending their educational insight with our design and land development experience to create a program that supports developmental needs through nature-based play. The design integrates accessible swing sets, outdoor kitchen stations, musical play zones, and natural features that encourage exploration, movement, and imaginative play.
Landscape elements such as a climbing mound with log scramble, stage platform, and native plantings create textured, interactive zones that support fine-motor development and social interaction. With every detail shaped to be inclusive, safe, and developmentally aligned, the Narragansett School Playground stands as a model for thoughtful, holistic outdoor learning environments.
