Mary Kozicki LaFontaine Joins Sebago Technics as Director of Employee Development & Engagement

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – Sebago Technics, a Maine-based, employee-owned, engineering consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Mary Kozicki LaFontaine has joined as Director of Employee Development and Engagement

Ms. Kozicki LaFontaine is a skilled employee development professional with experience in both the public and private sectors.  She has worked in higher education, private industry, and state government.  For 16 years she served the Maine Department of Labor as the Manager of the Lewiston Career Center and then Regional Director for Southern Career Centers.  In these roles, Mary led workforce development services and efforts to serve individuals and businesses.

Ms. Kozicki LaFontaine has been actively involved in human resource development and organizations throughout the State.  She is a member of the Maine State HR Council, Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Maine Human Resource Association, where she most recently served as President.  In 2017, she led the effort for the national SHRM Pinnacle Award and in 2018, the Maine HR Leader of the Year Award from the Maine Society of Human Resource Management.

In addition to her professional experience and accomplishments, Ms. Kozicki LaFontaine is an active community volunteer.  She has served as a City Councilor (Auburn), Chair of the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council, and longtime member of the LA Metro Chamber.  She has led the Chamber’s Workforce Development and Education Committee and served as President of the Chamber in 2012-13.  For her leadership in outstanding service and support of the community, the LA Metro Chamber presented the Career Center with the Ken Addition Small Business Award (2012) and she was awarded the Ray Geiger Leadership Award (2018), the chamber’s highest award.

In her role at Sebago, Ms. Kozicki LaFontaine will focus on the overall development, engagement and support of Sebago’s employee-owners.  Her position will be a steward of the company’s mission, vision and values as well as maintaining and promoting its employee-owner culture.  Ms. Kozicki LaFontaine will also oversee the company’s human resource activities including recruiting, professional development, benefits management, and personnel policy administration.

Mary holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s from the University of Southern Maine. She has also presented on numerous topics and authored several publications including “Rethink Recruiting to Hire the Best People” (2014) and “Labor Force Realities – Where Will We Find Our Next Employees” (2016).
