His motivation and determination will set him on the right path to a successful career!

Where are you from and where do you go to school?

I’m from Searsmont, ME, and am currently attending school at the University of Maine in Orono.

What are you studying and why did you choose this major?

I am studying computer science. I chose computer science after trying two other majors and not enjoying them. My dad works in IT so I grew up around computers and have always been a computer savvy person. I’ve always really enjoyed working with computers and problem solving, so computer science is definitely the major for me!

What has been your favorite class so far and why?

My favorite class so far has been the Intro to Software Engineering course I took last semester. The professor was excellent, I learned a ton about the software development process, and the course significantly improved my programming skills.

My hobbies are motorcycling, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, canoeing, and playing video games.

What inspired you to intern with Sebago Technics and what do you hope to learn from your internship?

I saw the listing for an internship here on the University career page. I really like the fact that this company is 100% employee-owned, and the work environment seemed very friendly and inviting. I am hoping to learn mainly more about an industry network including security measures to better protect company data. I am also hoping to learn a bit about GIS since I have not been able to take any GIS-related courses within my major.

My dream vacation would be a tour of Europe.
