Employee-Owner Spotlight | Ted Wright, LLS | Project Surveyor

We’re excited to extend a warm welcome to Ted Wright, LLS, our newest member of the Sebago Technics team! Ted is a seasoned licensed land surveyor, and he joins our Springvale office as a Project Surveyor. With an impressive background in several renowned land surveying companies in New Hampshire, Ted brings valuable connections and extensive knowledge to our team. 

Before making Acton, ME his home, Ted resided in Tuftonboro, NH, where he actively contributed to local government initiatives. Ted’s background in the Coast Guard and proficiency in boundary, topographic, construction layout, subdivisions, and various NH permitting processes make him a great asset to our team.

Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?

I grew up in Melvin Village, NH and have lived in several towns nearby as well as in Boulder, Colorado, Woods Hole, Massachusetts, Homer, Alaska, and New York City.  (The last three were in the US Coast Guard.)

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

So far, Wells is a favorite.

What three traits define you?  

Loyalty, honesty, and openness.

What was your very first job, and what did you learn from it?

Dishwasher at a local restaurant.  I learned that people always have to eat and how to be on time!

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

Variety.

What was your journey like to get where you are?

It’s been a long strange trip!  

What are your hobbies outside the office?

Studying and living history, and golfing.

What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?

The people, the professionalism, and the fact that the company is employee-owned.

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

Live here!

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

That is a tough one. I love to cook, so I would hate to be limited to one meal;  however, if it were my last meal, it would be lobster and filet mignon.

Top three life highlights?

Chronologically:  Joining the US Coast Guard, marrying my wife, Cindy and being elected as a State Representative in New Hampshire (twice).

Do you have a hidden talent? If so, tell us about it!

Cooking.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

An Alaskan Brown Bear.  They appear to have a pretty good life!

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

Jávea, Spain.

Favorite Holiday and why?

Memorial Day, because it means summer is right around the corner!

What is the best concert you attended?

Grateful Dead, Lewiston, September 6, 1980

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.  

Both of my father’s grandfathers were in the Civil War!

What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?

Participating in living history events.

When you think about working at Sebago Technics, what makes you proudest or most excited?

The same things that inspired me to work here.
