Employee-Owner Spotlight | Kathryn Konopko | Civil Engineer


Kathryn Konopko recently joined Sebago Technics as a Civil Engineer on our Project Delivery Team! Kathryn is a graduate of Clarkson University with a degree in Civil Engineering with concentrations in Structural Design and Construction Management. With experience in site design, permitting, and planning board presentations, Kathryn brings a fresh perspective to our projects. Her dedication to engineering excellence is already making waves in the industry. Her expertise covers a wide range – from site inspections to septic design and cost estimating for both private and public sector clients. Originally from New York, she’s now proud to call Maine home. Let’s give Kathryn a warm welcome to Sebago Technics and Maine!


Where did you grow up and what other places have you lived in throughout your life?

I grew up in Stony Point, NY.

Favorite place(s) to go in Maine?

My favorite place to go in Maine is Acadia National Park.

What is your favorite part of the type of work that you do?

Seeing a design move from paper to construction.

What are your hobbies outside the office?

I love spending time with my dog, Kaya, in my free time. She loves to come on runs and hikes with me.

What inspired you to work for Sebago Technics?

Everyone here at Sebago is welcoming and friendly. They all inspire each other to put their best foot forward every day.

Favorite thing to do in Maine?

Bring my dog to the beach or on a hike.

Top three life highlights?

  1. Backpacking across the country in the summer of 2023
  2. Adopting my dog, Kaya
  3. Racing at the 2022 USCSA Nordic Ski National Championship in Lake Placid, NY

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

I would love to go to Norway and Nordic Ski.

Favorite Holiday and why?

Thanksgiving – for the food.

What is the best concert you attended?

The 1975 in Madison Square Garden.

What are your favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family?

I love to run, hike, and ski with my friends!
